LIAT Apologizes for DelaysST. JOHN’S, Antigua - July 20th, 2007 - LIAT (1974) Ltd apologizes to its passengers who may have experienced significant delays during the last week. These delays resulted from two aircraft being removed from service to facilitate unscheduled maintenance checks, and in some cases bad weather in the region. Due to numerous connections and high fleet utilization, a delay on one segment can have a rippling effect on our schedule. Wilbur Edwards, LIAT Director of Operations, stated that "these aircraft have now returned to our schedule and our customers can expect our service to return to normal." LIAT is currently focusing on enhancing performance through ongoing training and improving customer service. Note to the editors: LIAT is owned by regional shareholders, with the major shareholders being the governments of Barbados, Antigua, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
